| Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the forum and I'm really happy that I stumbled on this website. I'm currently an IT student at university. I'm also interesting in taking the CIW foundations exam but I'm going to go the self study route. My school is charging around $3000 dollars just to prepare for the fundamentals exam! I was just wondering from anyone who has taken the exam what books and practice exams do you reccommend I use to prepare for the 1D0-410 test? Thanks in advance :-)

| Welcome to the CIW Forum.
For the Foundations course, most people would just take the i-NET+ exam (www.comptia.org) which is equivalent to the Foundations course. Besides, you will get two certs: i-NET+ and the CIWA--all you need to do is send in your exam score for the i-NET+ exam to CIW.
Save the $3,000 and search for i-NET+ books at Amazon.com. There are quite a number of them to choose from, and they cost around US$20-50.

| Effective October 1, 2001 - There will be a US$49.00 processing fee for candidates wanting to receive CIW Associate status for their iNet+ Certification. Candidates will be able to apply at www.CIWcertified.com.

| If i-NET+ is so much easier than CIW-foundations then why would CIW allow you to be assoiciate after passing i-NET+???????? | |

| The CIWA is more of an overkill. I've seen the four binders of the official text . i-NET+ is not a pushover, but I think it is more realistic. |
