I heard the difficulty about CIW Foundations is not the level of questions, but the fact you have to answer 60 questions in only 60 minutes, is it true?

I did my Foundations last Friday. I was given 90 mins to answer 70 questions, of which 60 were markable. I didn't know which ones were markable - it didn't make it clear.

I felt there was plenty of time. During the exam I marked 12 questions for review which I came back to at the end. Out of those 12 I think I only changed 2.

Hope it goes well for you.

Not that tough, though you have to read the questions carefully--there are some that are a bit tricky.

you'll be fine, the questions aren't very long.......

i went into the testing centre at about 11:55am and came out at 12:14pm. 5 mins of that was finding the right place and getting seated.

I answered 59 questions correct in about 14 mins. I don't like to say this as you may underestimate it, but it was the easiest exam I've seen.

As long as you know the material, you wont have any problems. Do the cert21 exams as practice

Yeah, I think you're right, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be! But without training you never know what to expect.

When listening to people stating that a test is not "hard" PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look at the certifications they currently have under THEIR belt! What is not hard to them might be the first time you are looking at something. We all know that the hardest (knowledge wise) part of the foundations exam is the networking portion, that being said I HOPE that the Foundations exam was not hard for a CNA and an MCP!!!!

Nobody starts an exam without knowing what it is about! So, the first step is knowing what you are studying. Then 'collegues' who allready passed can tell you the grade of difficulty, it helps you to prepare!
example: 1 person tells you it is easy and 9 others say it is hard: makes a chance of 90% that it will be hard!

When we speak about grade of difficulty who do we mean this grade is for??? Someone who has a LOT of networking knowledge (notice I say knowledge not experiance) under their belt or for someone who is looking at a piece of information for the first time. I watch my student constantly. Those that come in with networking experiance such as MCSE's and CNE's have no problem learning the material and blow through the test. When you have a novice user deciding to take the class and hopefully the exam for the first time their learning curve is MUCH higher and it is much more difficult to RETAIN the information. If you have ALREADY passed an exam based on the information you have a MUCH MUCH easier time passing.
Just experiance speaking here.....sorry!
