Hi everyone

I want to know from everyone that has taken these CIW tests...how well do you think someone would do on these test if they just used other resource to study?

I'm not in a class and I can't afford the cost for the design and ecommerce study books so I thought that maybe with the test objectives and the course outline ..I may still be able to pass the site designer and ecommerce tests.

What ya'll think?

thanks

Can you buy the cert21 practice tests? I find them pretty helpful. They're like $22 a piece.

Oh yeah..I did the cert practice tests already and am definitely going to buy them. I wanna wait until it's almost time to take my test though.

I'm taking the i Net week after next.

thanks

Sybex's or ExamCram's i-NET is sufficient. Do a check at Amazon's for a more complete listing and ratings.

Good Luck man...

I think its possible to do it without the actual courseware, but it would depend on your prior knowledge and research skills.

There are a lot of people here willing to answer your questions, but be careful because the site designer and e-comm wont be like the foundations (in my opinion).

Unfortunately I can't help you with site designer (as I don't have many notes), but I will be able to give you some notes for e-commerce.

I empathise with the others here that don't have $$$ to spend on expensive courseware. It seems viable to attempt the MCIWD without the material, but when you start going for the exams that aren't that common (like app dev or db spec.) i think you may need the courseware.

I have not used any cert21 tests (perhaps only the demo/trial/sample), but I have found that the Sybex, ExamCram, etc, books sufficient. Besides, you do have a bank of questions after every chapter, plus a full-scale bonus test. That's a lot of questions and materials. Plus, you keep the book forever, no expiration date .

Unfortunately, there are no 3rd party publishers yet, though some are expected to come out around Q4.

i-NET is equivalent to the CIW Foundations, so this is the path for now. Besides, you get to be i-NET+ and CIWA--two for the price of one!

that would be great if they brought out exam cram for CIW!!

One thing to mention though, you need to do the ciw foundations to become ciwci. You can't substitute the i-net exam for it.

And you need to actually attend a class at an authorized center, and show your attendance certificate (besides passing the exam, of course).
