there is more than 1 exam, there are 4 different tracks which you will notice f u visit the site that hacker posted.

I have completed MCIWD and have to say that it was pretty easy. If you had the right material I think you could pass all 3 exams in about 2 weeks. Obviously that would only be if u wanted the cert rather than the knowledge.

The other tracks dont seem as easy though, and since there are a lot less people with experince taking these exams, its harder to gather info on them. I gather you would be interested in MCIWED since you're a Java guy, etc etc

I flunked foundations first time out....
I took the course every nite for 5 nites, 5 hours per....have studied for three weeks. Don't use measureup.com....conflicting answers. In fact, I think that there are several people who have said that there are contradictions between what prometrics books establish, and the answers on the test.
I am going to take it again tomorrow...only failed by one question. This is ridiculous. I am not studid! But I am getting there fast!

The entry-level exams are the ones most people (including myself) underestimate. We tend to think we know the subject material and try to clear the exam with lightning speed.

Check out this story at http://XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/editorial/col...EditorialsID=60

I can identify with the story under section 6. Learn from your Failures, as I too, rushed to sit for my LPI Linux (Part I) exam. I took the exam thinking it would be a breeze. I passed on the dot.

As I looked back, the questions were actually simple, but I was not prepared for the entire scope and level of detail required for the exam which ensures that the stuff that you do not use on a day-to-day basis, you still have to know.

I read the article...it was pretty much a replay of my experience.
I did write many of them down...trouble is, I am not finding the answers in my textbooks!
I will continue to go through the summaries of each area in hopes that tomorrow something will pop out at me that I didnt notice today. I do appreciate the input.
Thanks again, faithster

may i also suggest cert21.com exams...

i am not sure how applicable it will be to the new version, but it really gets you into the swing of answering those typed of questions. Do it non-stop for about 3 hours and untill you get 95%+ each time, and you should be fine.

But, it seems the real exam has slightly changed, so it may or may not be as valuable as it was for the previous format.

I did notice just taking the sample questions from the cert21.com site that they were much more similar to the real exam than the practice exams I have been taking from measureup.com...If I don't pass again tomorrow...I will take this up with my training center and see what they're willing to do.
I found this info on top-level domain names:
A system that maps unique, hierarchical names to specific IP addresses.
Translates the numeric IP address into server names.
A Domain Name is made up of three parts: www.brainbuzz.com
www – server/host name (specific)
BrainBuzz – registered company domain name
com – domain category, country code or top level domain (general)
Some companies further divide their DNS by department, workstation, location...
Top Level Domain (TLDs) names:
com – commercial/company
edu – educational institutions (universities)
gov - government (US)
mil – military (US)
org – organizations, clubs, associations, non-profit...
net – network sites, including ISPs
int – international organizations
Two-letter country codes (ca, uk, au, ch, jp...)
Hope this helps....faithster

If I'm not sure of something, I always check the source. Sybex, Coriolis, and even Microsoft Press do have errors, just like our newspapers, magazines, etc, etc. We are only human!
