Hi all,

I am feeling confident that I can pass my test on Friday but the only thing I am finding hard to remember is the Interent Architecture and what layer does what, and what protocols reside in what layer etc. Has anyone got any good tips that might help?.

What I do is to write down the seven layers using this mnemonic once I'm in the exam room but before I press the Start button:

Please Do Not Throw Sausage Pizza Away.

Physical: All things that are hardware like NICs, Cables, Repeaters.

Data Link: Anything to do with Data Link is always related to Frames. Bridges, Switches.

Network Layer: Routers, IP.

Transport: TCP, UDP.

Session: Authentication, Connection.

Presentation: Compression, Encryption.

Application: FTP, Files Systems.

The CIW notes would give full explanations, but I find that this helps sufficiently for me to remember stuff. You got to devise your own fun way of remembering things .

All the best for Friday.
