| hi all,
I am going to send the CompTIA i-Net+ CIW Foundations Exam Credit Application Form (along with the copy of my i-Net+ cert).
On the CIW website, they mention:
Note: Candidates who are exempted via the i-Net+ program must sign the CIW Certification Agreement in order to receive their CIW Associate certificate.
Do I need to do this as well? or just send the papers to CIW?
thanks... | |

| You have to sign the agreement, otherwise no cert will be issued.
Then you wait for 6-8 weeks .

Yep, you need to sign it or else they won't send you the cert.

| A better way is this: If you already have the i-NET+ exam under your belt, just take another CIW exam--you will be a CIWP (rather than a CIWA) and you can sign the agreement when you take the test. | |

| When you take the exam, you have to sign the Agreement, otherwise you can't sit for the exam. Same for Cisco, M$, Linux, etc.
It is a way to protect the exams from being a commodity: if eveyone gets the cert and people like you put in so much effort to pass, then there would be no value attaining the exam.
Basically, the Agreement does not allow people to talk about the exam, and the person that violates it has to pay the legal costs and may get the certification revoked.
The using of i-NET+ to substitute for the CIWA presents a unique situation: since a person did not take the exam, there must be some way to bind him/her to the CIW Agreement. Of course, COMPITA has the COMPTIA Agreement when a person takes the i-NET+ exam. |
