| just curious guys, does your employer pay for the cert or you yourselfs pay for the exams?

| when i started employment with my current company they went on about how they want to support continual education and blah blah blah............
then i enquired whether I could get financial help in regard to my study, and they're like "if its self study we will only pay for the exam"
so after 1 mcp exam and 1 ciw exam, i gathered my receipts and handed them in for approval. Then they say all this stuff about how CIW isn't an approved course and i didn't tell them about my mcp before doing it. In other words, they just played me and every other employee, hence my interest in finding alternative employment.
I moved interstate for the company, helped start a new office which has over 200 employees after only a year, and thats how they repay you........ | |

i thought that one is huge company...a bit surprising to hear this 
btw, if I were an employer (given I have the budget and all), I would make certifications compulsory for my IT staff (at least quarterly or so), what do you guys think?  | |

| Hello boo,
Some employer provide the loan for the cert study and charge the interest too. They are not willing to invest and save the all the money doing useless stuffs. Forgive them.
Dun blame all the employer, maybe some of them are not in that type.

| Hi there,
Well fortunately my employers have agreed to pay for the CIW. I had to approach them though and make it sound like it would be benificial to the company. | |
