Well, I haven't really seen any job notices mention the CIW just yet. It's usually A+, MCSE, CNE or CCNA where I am.

Just FYI:

There is a job posting for a CIW Instructor in the Dallas Morning News today.

"CIW Instructor. Certification & 3 years experience required"

while u never see jobs for CIW's, i think its good experience for a number of reasons.

You do learn quite a bit of tech knowledge that will both directly and indirectly help in your career development. I think it also gives you exam experience as the first few seem quite easy and get you into the rhythm. Especially helpful if you are planning on keeping certified in a number of different fields.

I first started CIW because it seemed like the only certification in what I want to pursue (e-comm, e-bus, web app dev, etc etc), obviously now i know different. I just need to remember that the MCSD exams are going to be a lot different.

Also, it certainly wont hurt your chance in obtaining new positions, it can only help i guess.

The Monster UK site is usually good for finding European jobs.

Normally, I would say "Get experience on your own" which is fine for a site designer-type job, but not so much for an administrator. I think the other posters are correct. It's a little soon to start seeing CIW in ads, but you might be able to convince them that you have the skills and tell them what CIW is all about.
