| Can anyone recommend a good book for JavaScript...I'm getting into this and I'm sick of using the web to read all about it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance. | |

| I use Javascript : The Definitive Guide (3rd Edition) from O'Reilly when I need to use JS, but this is not a book to use if you don't know any programming. A better guide if you're new to it is Beginning JavaScript by Wilton. But of the two I like the former more. | |

| Thanks Randy,
Have to say that I'm not new to programming, bit rusty perhaps...last time I did any was on a VAX/VMS 1170 or DOS batch files over 8 yrs ago.
Dont suppose you have the ISBN's do you?
Thanks mate | |

| Javascript : The Definitive Guide - 1565923928
Beginning JavaScript - 1861004060
JS is much more involved than DOS batch files, but if you can do anything on a VAX machine, JS should present no probs for you. | |

| I have to go with the IDG JavaScript Bible. For serious JavaScript packing desktop power this is the book I suggest.
If you want something that will teach you beg-int webside JS then score the Visual QuickSTart guide to JavaScript, Edition 4.
Both are great books, and my students are successful with both.
