Ok, so I've got my I-Net+ and I'm looking for CIW training materials and can't find anything but braindumps, etc.

Now, Prosoft is offering their training materials through ComputerPrep, but the ComputerPrep site will only sell to an authorized training partner.

So I guess I'm stuck buying stuff from New Horizons, etc. Anyone know how much the prosoft books and/or CBT's by themselves will cost?

Try searching online auctions. There is a multi-auction search right on our site. Click on the link on top of this page "Search Auctions" and then search for CIW or Prosoft.

I remember seeing some used Prosoft study guides on some of the auctions.

Also, on ciwcertified.com they recommend what books to use for some books for their exams.

And of cause don't forget to check out our online testing site www.cert21.com

We currently have practice exams for 5 CIW most popular exams. We will be adding 2 more next month - foundation and accelerated exam for MCPs

There practice exams are written by people who already passed these exams and the questions are very similar to the real thing, but a bit harder.

We also have exam notes for 7 on the most popular CIW exams right on this site. These exam notes will give you a pretty good idea of what to concentrate on.

I called a local New Horizons training center regarding the CIW e-commerce and site design books. They said they don't usually sell them, but I could pick them up for a mere 150-200 bucks each. They sure have a good business going over there, 2000 for a lame class, 200 bucks for a book? Whatever....

I don't think I'll ever pay for a training class again. Better off buying my own equipment and a book in most cases.

I'll keep an eye on auctions and call around to check other prices.

Thanks again.

So I've found a couple books at auction, but I'd like to get some new ones, then sell them after I'm done.

I contact Prosoft/ComputerPrep 'Okay, no problem just contact one of our ATPs near you'

So I contact the local New Horizons and other ATPs near me. 'Well, let me see I don't think we sell the books separately. [pause..whispers in the background] No, I'm sorry we can't sell the books separately. We get our books from Prosoft, why don't you try them' Doh! Argh!

Finally, I find a guy at a place in Northern Virginia who says 'sure that's no problem' I call around because his price was high, but find no other takers. I call back again the next day to confirm that I can buy the books without being in the class. 'sure just stop by and have your cash, check, or charge ready' So, I drive around the beltway, avoid death and sit in nasty DC traffic to get to this place in Alexandria. The guy I spoke to has left for the day and his evil coworkers are all that remain.
'I'm sorry we can't sell you the books if your not in a class. We don't carry extra stock. Why don't you try prosoft.'

Doh! Doh! Argh! eep! orp! oop! ah! ah!

Anyone know any specific ATPs that will actually sell the CIW courseware?

ComputerPrep says that it is up to the ATPs and that there are a couple that will sell them, but they do not have any names. I have not found any.

The auctions have some books but its not clear what version the books are since there have been several drafts since the CIW began. I'm waiting to hear back from the sellers.

Thanks.

Troytec.com has introduced their Study Guide for the CIW exam 1D0-460. Cost $29US.

Since local ATP's won't sell books because they want you to take their class, find a non-local ATP that doesn't have any branches near you.

That way, selling books to someone far away won't hurt their local training business.

maybe worth a shot.
