| I have finally realized that my chances of attaining the kind of career I want is impossible without certifications. I must face the fact that no recruiter is going to risk their job by making an objective hiring decision and, frankly, I can't blame them. So, here's the deal. I need certifications. A few trade school Macromedia classes and all my Brainbench certs have not helped my resume to get any responses. Neither has publishing several sites for myself and others that are not too shabby. CIW looks good to me because it seems to be the only certification geared toward web design and development that is not vendor specific. Here is what worries me. When I search the web for any info regarding CIW, all find are hundreds of places selling the training. Never anyone looking to hire an entry level CIW. Here are my burning questions:
1. Has anyone here gotten their first IT position based on their CIW certification? If so are you design, dev or both?
2. Do you truly feel CIW is the non-vendor-specific "Internet Standard"? I hear most recruiters have never heard of it.
3. Do you think that being a CIW will ever say all a recruiter needs to know?
I am taking foundations later this week. Thank you for your support.

| Dear;
Sorry to disappoint you, but I took my Master CIW Designer since 6 weeks, and I've been applying for jobs since 8 weeks, and I noticed that nobody knows this certification neither they care about it.
And when I try to tell the recruitment about it or just to get their attention to it in my CV, it doesn't have that much of affect to them they just pass by it without any interest.
I don't know if in other countries it is more none, but the only thing that I can tell you, In Vancouver, Canada, NOBODY know about it.
Good luck
