IMHO
I have the Prosoft CIW Series and I have used my Exam PREP more actually between that and several other sites such as brain Buzz is where I obtained study sheets (be careful what you read on that site). If you stick to that

Exam PREP, the hardcover that comes with practice exams (581pp, Coriolis, Exam IKO-001, Covers all CIW Level One objectives)

...you should be all right. I also found MANY discrepancies in the actual courseware. Two different locations had a T1 at two different speeds...etc. SO I would not recommend buying that.
Pay special attention to the HTML with the CIW.
I chose to take the I-Net+ exam solely because the CIW seemed so proprietary. (Out of the book) I did take the CIW and failed by 2 points. I remember that some of the questions had 2 really good answers or more and It was more about what "they" wanted you to know not grading you on what you do know.
Comptia has changed its criteria several times this past year. Not just with how the Certifications are issued and for what but also the courseware. I actually failed my CIW the first time out but I have no other knowledge or on the job experience, just fooled around with web sites as a hobby.

I am moving on to the e-commerce and site design to finish the master certification. And then I am off to my WIN2K and JAVA Cert.

Good luck! =]
