| I took the JavaScript exam in October and posted my dump on another board (www.ciwcram.com) Here's is my copied-and-pasted dump
***************************
Passed JavaScript test today with 94%.
50 questions, all one module, 75% to pass.
If you have used JavaScript, you are home free with this one.
I used the Prosoft book to review and it was, as always, right on track.
Here's what to know:
1. DOM (Document object model). Know what the default object is (window), know the properties and methods of every object. Yep, every object. Write some sample scripts to get familiar with it if you have not used it.
2. String methods. I seem to have had a lot of questions related to this on my test. Know the string object and methods like substring(), indexof(), bold(), italics(), fixed(), etc.
3. Frame issues. Know how to refer to frames in a frameset, difference between parent and top. Understand what something like this would do:
"window.mysubframe.frames[1].bgcolor = "000000"
4. Forms. Know the basic HTML stuff like method and action and how to work scripts into them.
5. Basic scripting concepts. Know what objects, properties and methods are. JavaScript is not compiled and runs on the
client machine, made by Netscape, etc.
6. Cookies. Know how a cookie is set, max size for a cookie (4kb), how to make a cookie expire, and how they actually work
If you do not have access to the official courseware, there are tons of free JavaScript tutorials on the web. A good one I know of is at: http://www.webdeveloper.com/javascr...s_tutorial.html
But if you type 'JavaScript tutorial' into any search engine you'll find tons.
On to the Perl test now!!

| I am currently enrolled to take the New Horizon courses for Web Languages (JavaScript and Perl), Application Developer, and Java programming next year. Are there other students out there interested in exchanging emails and forming a virtual study group? | |
