How do you restore an sql database from the transaction log file, is that possible.

You cannot restore the whole DB from t/logs. You need to have a datafile backup as well.

Take for instance a company who takes a full backup on a Monday and differential backups on a tuesday and thursday. And t/log backups at 6pm every night

The system falls over on Wedensday Morning.

You would restoree the full backup from monday, then the differential from tuesday and then the tlog backup from Tuesday night.
