| Does anyone know if the vb 6.0 tests will still be valid as elective tests for the MCDBA certification? They are set to retire 6/30/04. | |

| 70-176 (VB 6 Desktop) was never an elective for the MCDBA certification. If you take 70-175 (VB 6 Distributed) before June 30th, then it will count for your MCDBA. No re-certification is necessary for people who passed 70-175 as their elective. On July 1st, the exam will no longer be offered.

| Sorry, I meant 70-175 which I have already taken and I just passed 70-229 today to complete my MCSD and I was hoping that if I complete the other 2 tests for MCDBA after 6/30/04 that I wouldn't have to retake a different elective to replace 70-175.
I am reading your reply that you think 70-175 will still count?
Thanks,

| Yes, you are correct. The 70-175 that you already passed will still count for the MCDBA. Congratulations on the MCSD and good luck on your other two tests!!! | |

| Have you taken 70-228 yet and if so what books did you use? | |

| I used the Microsoft Press training kit book, but I wouldn't recommend it. The first half of the book was taken verbatim from SQL Books Online and just re-organized around the exam objectives. The second half was practice questions similar to a MS Press Readiness Review book.
I also used Transcender and found a lot of material that wasn't covered in the MS Press book. The 70-228 exam has a lot of exhibit questions, so it was more time consuming than 70-229. Be prepared for two or three exhibit displays for each question. Good luck... |
