| HI all, I am sure this has been asked a million times, but... I need a the best SQL book for a newbie. My boss has given ME a project and I must learn SQL. Now the other issue is I am totally new to DBs. I have done alot of OS/ Hardware work in the past, and now he turns to me for everything computer related... so.... You get the picture. I am a good study, I like hands on lab exercises, and pick up subjects very rapidly. But like I said I am totally newb to the whole DataBase world and everything in it.
Thanks in Advance.

| Try "Teach Yourself Microsoft SQL Server 2000 in 21 Days" by Sams Publishing or "MCSE SQL Server 2000 Administration for Dummies (covers test 70-228)". Either of these books should get you started, but the best resource for technical details is the SQL Books Online that is installed when you install SQL Server.
You can also download the SQL Books Online from www.microsoft.com/sql
Note that the exam 70-228 SQL Server Administration is an elective for both the MCSA and MCSE, so learning this now will be good preparation if you decide to complete those certs. in the future. Good luck ! | |

| I am using the Dummies book and I love it. It doesn't go over my head too much and the info is well laid out. Very easy read. |
