Hello! I’m thinking of taking the 70-228 and 70-229 exams soon. I went to a VUE testing center and I asked them about the number of questions and the minimum score for those exams. The lady told me that the passing score is 755 for the 70-228 and 704 for 70-229. Does anyone know the number of questions in those exams?
Thanks a lot! Bye!

Catalind,

Yep, 228 - 45 @755 and 229 - 44 @704.

For the 229, you need to know T-SQL VERY well, and xome XML. Apparently, I have heard, there are a number of questions on XML (I only experienced one myself), but they are very long, and to get more than 10 or so, you may as well give up, unless you are an XML expert, of course! Make sure you have worked with SQL 2000 to some degree, as the questions are 90% practical. Understand when to use Views/SPs/Triggers etc, and why.

For 228, make sure you understand logins, roles, accounts etc. I saw no questions on different versions, almost all concerned Windows 2000 or 2000 Server 2000. Understand something of Publication/Distribution, the bare facts were good enough for me.

If you are as nervous as I was, relax with a couple of hours of Braindumps. (XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX). Not all the answers given are correct (close, but not all correct), but it gives you a very good idea of how the questions are structured, and what to expect.

The most important piece of advice I can give is this:
Study well, Feel confident and ask others for help when you don't quite understand something (I did!!).

And I wish you all the Good Luck in the World.

Took 070-229 last Friday. Pass Mark is 704, 44 questions in 110 minutes. I passed with 840. I used SelfTest Software's tests to help me prepare. The questions are scarily similar to the real thing !
