Author Does anyone want to study?

Hi folks,

I am taking some time away from Cisco, so I can learn SQl, I plan on studying SQL for 4-6 months straight! I noticed this board is a little dead but with the right people we can get it going. SQL seems to me, as not being to difficult but at the initial learning of all the terminology may be tuff. I've purchased the Osborne book for the 70-028 exam which by the way I heard it sucks but I got it for 9 bucks on the street so I took it. I plan on grabbing the sybex book as soon as possible, I've got sql running on my workstation at home, along with BOL so I can look up answers for anyone who does not have it, just post your question!! Well I hope some people are willing to stay dedicated to this board for awhile So we can help you and myself learn SQL!!!!!

Hey, I'm also studying for 70-028, and after that, I'll be doing 70-029. How far along are you? I just started, so I am larning access first right now, and then I'll work my way up to SQL. Hey, where in NY are you located? I live in Nassau County in Long Island and I work in NYC as a Systems Administrator. Alright, let me know if you have any questions and I'll do the same. Take it easy.

Hey, where pretty close. I am in Queens and also work in Manahattan as an admin. I am half way through the Osborne book and have ran through a few installations of Sql, I've been using the DTS (Data transfer Service ) and Plan on starting some of the T-sql language tonight. I think that's the tuffest part. The Admin app it's self is pretty easy to use. BOL sucks, everyone says its great but it bores me to death. I guess it's an excellent reference but, It kills me to read it. The osborne book is alright, I was upset after the reading the first chapter but then things started to picl up and now I am rolling right along with it.

Hi,

I'm just preparing the 229 Beta So maybe I sometimes can also help you. 028 and 029 I'd already passsed last year to get my MCDBA.

MCSEWannabe you should be carefully by learning SQL with access! the SQL Server is much more powerful than Access and even the SQL-Statements are different from the SQL Server.

Ok, learning the first steps is allright, But after 3h learning you're running into the first problems.

Cat

Hey,

I live in Manhattan and am trying to break into networking. I'm job-hunting now, but the market is a little tough. I have one MCSE elective left to finish 4.0 and thought about SQL 2000, but now I think I want to take the easiest test to finish MCSE and then work on Access, VB and SQL. Any advice? My final test considerations are SMS 2, SQL 7 (70-019, -028 or -029), Exchange 5.5, Proxy 2, IE 5 (-080) or one of the Win2k tests that I can apply to the 200 track.

Much thanks in advance,

Arp
