| i need to know how you determine the number of hosts a given subnet will support after you have subnetted the network. do you still use the 2(n)-2 formula for this also. | |

| Yes you do. You like at the number of host bits, and you calculate 2 to the power of (number of host bits) minus 2 and that gives you the amount of available hosts per IP range you created by subnetting.
