Author IIS or PWS

You need to give several UNIX users access to some of the database files on your Windows NT Workstation's hard drive. The files are sensitive so you will need to make sure that only authenticated users with access rights to the files can download them. The UNIX computers are running TCP/IP without NetBIOS support. How should you proceed?(select only the best answer)

Correct Answers:
a)Install IIS on your workstation, copy the files to a virtual directory and give the Internet Guest User account a password.
b) Share the directory that contains the files, create user accounts for the UNIX users that will need access and give those accounts access to the files.
c) Install IIS on your workstation, configure the FTP service not to allow anonymous connections, copy the files to the FTPROOT directory and create user accounts for the UNIX users that will need access. Give those accounts access to the files.
d) Install simple TCP services on your workstation, configure the FTP service not to allow anonymous connections, copy the files to the FTPROOT directory and create user accounts for the UNIX users that will need access. Give those accounts access to the files.

TestFree indicates the correst answer is C. I doubt it. Can IIS be installed on wks? I think it is only for server. Should we use pws instead?

You can only use PWS on Wkstn or W95/98, and PWS is really a reduced version of IIS, so this may be the 'best' answer.

Hey jaywang
Are you using TCP Drill? There is a very similar question there which has one of the solutions as PWS, which in that case was the right answer. There may be an error in your question. If you are using the Drill, you'll be more than okay for this exam, believe me.

Thanks, Prometric.

I have already purchased the TCP/IP Drill. I will sit the exam on 31 Jan. I save it for the last three-day drill. I trust it and want to have a real drill before the exam.
