Author Exam duration

2001-01-15, 3:34 pm

Hello All

I have just registered for the exam on Friday 19th and in the details of the exam it says "Exam Duration : 02:00 [hh:mm] does this mean the exam is something like 55 questions instead of 30? I remember they did this just before the Enterprise exam changing it from adaptive to 55 questions just before I was gonna take it last year.

Any info would be much appreciated. wish me luck !

It could be that the exam has changed. I haven't heard anything and it may be different in each country. Call your test centre. You hear many conflicting reports. On one exam I was told to expect 35 questions, but actually got 36. I think Microsoft keep changing things to keep us on our toes. I've even heard that you can get different exams at the same centre. The best thing is to call you exam centre and ask them. This way you'll know for sure

The exam is schedule for 2Hrs, this is with the pre & post survey questions & sample practice exam. The actual test is still 60 mins with 30 questions. To the best of my knowledge, unless MS changed it again. Hope this eases things down alittle. =:>

Shard, how was the exam? I mean topics, etc. I'm still Freaking/Stressing. Don't know if I'm coming or going.

It was quite hard becos becos of confusing questions. Didnt have too much on subnetting and none n supernetting. Had a few questions on unix, network monitor etc, wins, dns etc

A bit of advice though. Once you have studied go and get the tcp/ip drill either from freaks site or examdrill. I think this little package helped me to learn and pin point weak areas. Go check it out
Hope this helps

Hi all

I took the exam on Friday and got a 966, so quite happy!
I wouldn't like to say that the exam was easy I had studied hard on the subject so I think that took the pressure out of it.As Shard said they do throw in a couple of ambiguous questions but on the whole I think if you have studied well and use a couple of the dumps Ama and Cousin Larry are good and Ians,I split Ians into 6 and came back to them at different times you'll be ok.
I did find that after doing the core exams you have a bit of ground work there to work from and the exam drill is great for the price $20/£13 with explanations when you go wrong.
Well 1 more to go

See ya!

Thanks Shard

Yeh I was pleased with the result but I was bricking it before the exam after reading other peoples comments.
I'm gonna go for Exchange next as that seems to be what the job advertisements ask for. I have got the sybex book which is a bit of a monster but gets good reviews.
How about you?

2001-01-22, 6:29 pm

I took this exam on 12/20/2000 and got 30 questions and they gave me 60 minutes to take the test.

Choice between Proxy and Exchange 5.5. I have the proxy books so I am going for that one. Since neither proxy nor exchange 5.5 are retiring at the moment I might go for them both...

Good luck

Yes I have the Proxy book as well and I have been through it a bit, looks interesting. Think I'll go for exhange though.Good luck anyway Shard
