Author Does TCP/IP Count for elective in WIN2K

2000-12-19, 11:56 am

I currently have core 4 completed. Over the next 2 months or until the deadline of 2/28/01 I would like to take 2 additional tests to achieve MCSE in NT4. I was wondering if I take 70-059 before deadline will it count as an elective in WIN2K?

respectfully,
examine

Yes, until it retires.

Really? I didn't think it counted. Cool, one less exam to take for now
Taking 215 later on today... and not feeling as strong as I should either... time will tell!

Yeah, the TCP/IP counts until it retires. Like you, I have it, so we have to replace it by 12/31/01, but until then I have met the requirements of MCSE/MCT for W2K, and you will soon.

Good luck on that exam and let us know how you did. I sent an email to the address on your website. Let me know if you got it.

Later and good luck again-

does this mean if you take it and pass before 2/28/00 it will count as an elective in WIN2K?

After, it won't

I'm not sure I get the question, I guess you meant 2/28/01.

Before 2/28/01, if you take and pass 70-059 it counts towards NT4 and W2K, and is good until one year after it retires (I think with these NT exams it is until 12/31/01, the extension may not affect the expiration).

After 2/28/01 you can't take it, so ... you can't take it

It's still good until it expires. Which is not the same thing as retires.
