| I started the NT 4.0 track on the 17th of September, 2000. TCP/IP is my last test. I have passed the all core and IIS with flying colors. I have read half of the damn sybex book and I am completely lost when it comes to subnetting. Any hints to remember this stuff? My test is this Sat. | |

| Great news for help is at hand
Freak has put a very good subnetting guide at www.mcsefreak.com. Work through that and you will understand subnetting
Good luck mate

| Don't get down. I tanked the test 2 times before passing 2 weeks ago. Something that worked for me was to go through my study guides whether I fully understood the topics or not. Then get as many questions from this site, Freak's and the others as you can. I am a problem solver by nature and need to have "problems" to work out rather than learning from a text. This gives you some "experience" and a feel for what you need to work on...specifically on those items you are not sure about. Otherwise you are trying to learn it all at the same time which I could not do. Remember, lots of questions. Get used to the scenarios you will se on the exam AND in the field.
REMEMBER...don't forget to get a good night's sleep each night. Do not study for at least an hour before going to bed or your brain never has a chance to rejuvinate itself. This comes from years of experience...I never learn anything the easy way!
You can do this...and if Friday you are uncomfortable, postpone the test and get yourself prepared mentally and physically. Nothing gets you down faster than doinking a test you never felt prepared for anyway. | |

| Check out Freaks subnetting guide at www.mcsefreak.com
Don't worry yourself too much. I struggled with subnetting at first and then WHAMMO, the light went on and I was transformed into a subnetting guru
You'll do fine!

| Don't worry about subnetting, right now you goal should be only to pass the test, I took my tuesday and passed with 866, there was only one subneting question. Just get the exam drill from freaks site, it's only 20 bucks, get to the point where you going to get 95 and over on all the exams, and then I give you 99% guarantee that you will pass the test. And after you do pass the test, then I recomend to figure out how subneting works, because you going to need it in real life, but for the test it's a waste of time.
Good luck.

P.S.Do you have any tips for IIS, that's my last one.

| WOW! Very helpful. It's awesome to see such support. You guys (or girls) may not realize it but you gave me the tips I needed. I'm sure I will do fine now. As for IIS Jan, 55 questions, about 10 sims. Check out Big Pappa's braindump. Very helpful. He discribes the sims almost exactly. Oh yeah, study your error codes. If you have had some hands on you shouldn't have any problems.
One thing that helped me was bypassing the sims until last. I got on a role with the multiple choice questions. I work with IIS at work so, it wasn't to hard for me. A good book to get for all the exams is the MCSE Six Pack by IDG books. Your practically taking the tests when you read. Hope that helps.
Thanks again for you support!
