| My dear friends!
i have just returned from the Exam Center in Tel-Aviv.
it took me 20 minutes including checking...
this Exam is not so hard as people say it might be.
Subnetting...i also was so troubled with it during my studies..i even was affraid of it.
i must say..when you get it-it seems so simple!and all of this trouble for only...one(!) question abo subnetting??only one simple question i had there...
The Exam was really fun,what you should really study for is Dhcp,Wins,Dns,Ftp,Unix combinations with all of these...know your "troubleshooters"gift questions!
My friends!!one more to go and i am done!(for now)...

| Hey there Giovanni,
I have not seen you around in a while. Congratulations big time. I think you are spot on about the exam. A freind of mine wrote his TCP/IP exam only 2 weeks after taking his Enterprise exam. He claims to have borrowed a manual from a freind and read through half of it. Then he did transcenders and went to write to see how it would be. He never expected to pass but to his suprise scored 900. I couldn't beleive it, but he also said it was not as bad as he expected it to be.
I've just written Net Essentials this morning and passed now I only have two to go. TCP/IP being the one.

Good to hear from you again.
I am ready to sit this exam but I am too damn busy at work at the moment that I cannot get time to write it. 26th Sept is the earliest that I will have timw I am afraid. 
Thank you for your IIS info, although it didn't work. I passed that exam ok however. The only one I have left after this is Enterprise, which I have heard overlaps the server exam quite a lot.

I'm sure you're relieved. It's great to hear good stories, although everyone's success won't be the same. It's still great to hear your success and suzie's friend. Johnno Long time no hear? So you have Enterprise as your final order huh, let us know if you need material. I'm planning on taking this tcp/ip test in a few weeks.

Congratulations or should I say mazel tov! on your pass...I am preparing for this one too, but have been getting scared to death by some of the reports lately about killer exams!!!
Oh boy, another one who says that subnetting will click!!! It is making me nuts right now and I am waiting for it to click!!! I am only
about 1/2 way through my book so maybe some of this will make sense eventually...I have been spending so much time trying to figure out ip addressing etc...that I have been having trouble remembering the other stuff I read!!! Anyway, congratulations to you...I am shooting to take this test by the end of the month, but am getting kinda paranoid...Stay tuned... | |

You have nothing to be paraniod about.nothing to be affriad of.offcourse,i was also affraid when i was half way the book and it seemed that Subnetting took all of my thoughts,and i said to myself "untill i dont get it-i am not going any further with the book".really a wrong thought.
My friend,i had only ONE question about Subnetting.only ONE!
i hear that people get as much as 3 Questions in the Exams.i know now that as much as you get more Subnetting qeustions,the more you get gifts..it is so easy.i want to give you some guidelines to this,okay?
look,first of all,you have got to see the whole picture.see all of the Octets alwayes.
see them in the 11111111-11111111-11111111-1111111 way.the binary way.look at them like this.you want to calculate subnets?no problem!lets take 224 for example.binary=11100000 the three"1" are the number of subnets you can have here.you do this calculation:2>3-2=6(2*2*2-2)
this means you can have 6 subnets maximum.about hosts?no problems at all..!do the same with the "0"!we have...5 zero`s,right?2>5-2=30!yes...30 hosts!
if the subnet mask is 255.255.224.0?
you can have 6 subnets and...30hosts+the other eight zero`s from the last octet(255.255.224.0)so we have 2>5-2=30+2>8-2=254.
254+30=284 hosts...!

I remember seeing you praise Exam Essentials in another forum. Did you use it for TCP/IP? I have both Transcenders and Exam Essentials and found them to be helpful on my other exams. What do you recommend for TCP/IP?

Thanks for your tip on the subnetting...I have not really had a chance to go through it yet, but I will and let you know if it helps things...I just saw another posting about someone who just took the exam and said it was like hell, 6 scenarios, several subnetting problems etc..Yikes, that sounds very ominous!!
Anyway, I am trying to forget about subnetting for the moment so I can get on with my reading, but it is very distracting...The clock is ticking away here on my potential test date, so it is kinda scary...Any other tips, moral support will be greatly appreciated....Thanks | |

I had 5 scenarios,three long questions about ftp configuration,one subenneting,5 proposed solutions questions...and i say i had an Easy Exam.study hard-any Exam will be soooo easy you wont believe..i sat there and was smiling all the way.what a great feeling to Enjoy these Exam,and i must say,i absolutly love to take Exams.when you study hard and you can let them know how what a big effort you gave to pass this Exam,it is so much fun to take those Exams.allready i am looking forward to the day of my next one...

Exam Essentials is great.the question is what are you using it for.
if you want to KNOW stuff and really study-it is a very good tool to study from.
if you want to memorize questions that may be on your actual Exam-this is not the software to use.it has no questions taken from the real Exams but,again,it is really great study-tool.i learnt from it alot!
i reccomend with all my heart to use it.i am sure it will help you and draw you close to your goal.
any help you need,i will be happy to assist.

Thanks again for your info and tips...I was wondering what you used to prepare? I assume you used exam essentials for paractice tests...What text/texts did you use and how long roughly did you prepare??
I do not have the exam essentials here, but I do have the current Transcenders for practice test and a few free ones too. I have heard that Transcenders are very good on this test for reinforcing the main concepts..I have not used them yet because I still have a fair amount of reading to get through....I am trying to take this exam by the end of the month, so naturally I am getting a little bit uneasy right now!!
Well, most of the day was busy with other chores today, but did get a chapter read however, I am fighting to stay awake so I figured it was a good time to quit especially since the next chapter is on DNS, a pretty important topic! I hope that you are right about the subnetting thing because some have said got several questions on it, including drag and drop type things! I would hate to lose points because of a calculation..
Anyway, I will keep you posted...I hope that I have enough time to prepare so I can meet my testing goal for this month...Take care for now... | |

e,miluim in lebanon,etc.
