| Took and passed Essentials today with an 866.
Felt pretty good going in, but was hit with a few questions on things I hadn't studied for.
Had a couple of "drag & Drop" questions. One on inserting protocols into the correct part of the OSI Model was kind of confusing. (Not the protocols themselves, but what they wanted me to do with them was the confusing part.)
Used mostly Sybex Networking Essentials book and CD's. And a few dumps here & there.
Not too bad in the overall scheme of things.
Now to decide what two electives to take to complete the NT Track MCSE......
Suggestions??
Thanks,

| I suggest SQL 7, both admin and design exams (2), this will get you another MCDBA cert paper in addition to MCSE and also ready to dig the MCSE2000 elective requirements too, I am heading that way, want to join me, hehehe | |
|
| Congrats on passing!
For the electives I can only say: choose those ones you're really working with. But if you don't work with anything else choose the ISA exam and wait for the final 244
Ping, learning SQL only by books is heard! specially for the design exam you'll need lot's of hands on practise!

| Cat, I have hands-on with SQL before, so it easy for me. Hey, can you help me get a consultant job? I have MIS degree and some Unix (Solaris) too. I am very impressed by with your status shown on the left there. Bye | |
|
| Hi ping,
sure we're looking for consultants, specially with Unix knowhow and a big bonus in System Management, but we're a very small company in Germany (10 people). I'm not sure whether you want to move?

| FYI! SQL 7 will be expiring. Not at the same time NT is but MS is trying to get people to go toward SQL 2000. Just a little FYI. | |
