Author Passed with a 1000

2000-11-29, 2:52 pm

I took Networking Essentials on 11/28 and passed with a 1000. It helped a lot that I already passed the other 3 core exams. I read the Sybex book, the Sybex Study Guide, and used both the Panpage and Rampage brain dumps. It is true that most of the questions were on the dumps (actually I believe all of them), but I am positive that I would've aced this test with no problem even if I didn't use the dumps, it really was a very easy test. I passed Enterprise on 11/10, and I was going to take Essentials real quick, but kept procrastinating because I know what it feels like to blow $100. I just didn't think that it was wise to leap into a test without properly preparing, so I read a lot, but to be honest, if you want a paper cert, memorize the dumps (and fail miserably at your job). Watch out with the Panpage test, I found at least 3 questions with the wrong answers. And I'm not sure about the rest of you, but do you ever sit there reading a dump, answering the question, and then reading the authors answers, and you think the author is wrong, don't you all feel happy that you know the right answer and why? That's a good sign, I feel good when that happens with me because then I know that I know my stuff. I'm going to post some mnemonics that I used for this test in my next post, check it out if you want to peer into my inner brain!

True but I might still retain that title, MCSEWannaam just sounds too awkward for my tastes. Well, I guess that new name might work, but you all could refer to me as ma'am. I guess that last sentence would be funnier if you knew I was male. Well now that you know, reread the sentence, and it'll be funnier. Good luck!

"memorize the dumps (and fail miserably on y job)" ...

I agree with that phrase but MY case is to get the paper certification to enter in market... and I really learned some concept with the dumps because I already resumed the MOC course material... and as WE ALL have a DEC 31 (remembering that 29 is friday) deadline, we need to get some shortcuts to become MCSE (on paper-only or not). I belive that all of us will keep the material fore future consulting (before they become obsolete).

Talking on y test is AWESOME when someone get a score above than 900 (I got 901 on ENTERPRISE) and is more OUTSTANDING when some get 1000. BIG CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!
Please tell me how can I find THE DUMPS to help me to accomplish this too...

I would be a lot thankfull to you, ambecomingMCSE (should be y nick for the DEC. month

You are right about the "paper" and not real job knowledge but I have to say that Microsoft has put a lot of people into a do or die situation. I am one of them because I didn't start taking classes for MSCE Certification until last August. I use the dumps and have studied hard and passed my first examine, three more to go in the next two weeks. But I have to say in defense of Brain dumps I have used them to help me understand the answers not to just memorize them. They are a helpful tool.

they can indeed be a good tool if you use them intelligently...

You know, I thought this thread was dead, but I have since decided to raise the dumps issue. First off, let me just let you know that I consider Petri, Transcenders, ExamCram, and other practice tests to be just expensive doublechecked braindumps. The issue I wanted to let you all know was the same day I took my test is Net Ess, my wife took an exam in her college for an advanced medical course. When I got home, she asked me what I got on my test, and I said that I got a perfect 1000, and when I asked her what she got, she replied 86% (which was the highest grade in her class). I thought to myself, 'how come I got a 100&% while she got a 86%? ... Wait a minute, how come I rarely got 100%s while I was in school? The answer is I never saw the questions before I took the exams in school, but now, all the resources are out there. Do I think that somebody can just memorize dump answers and get a 1000? No, there needs to be some sort of comprehension that occurs for you to memorize that many questions, so dumps do help with comprehension and pointing out weak areas. Do I think dumps are bad, no, but I think people should read a book before they read the dump. Case in point, I used to work a a helpdesk supervisor for a major internet site, and we hired a technician who was MCSE, CNA, CCNA, A+, Net+, and others after 2 years of computer intensive schooling. Funny thing was, though, that he had problems finding shortcuts on his computer (like easy way to get into system properties instead of going through control panel), and he couldn't remember how to make the three setup floppies in NT (winnt /ox). I don't blame the guy, he had just spent 2 years memorizing tests and reading a 1000 page book a week, obviously he wasn't absorbing that much information permanently, but his lack of real-world experience was hurting him on the job. And he wasn't a paper-MCSE, he was a paper cert - ALL of his certs had been achieved through reading lots of stuff, memorizing dumps, and then quickly passing the tests. I don't think Microsoft placed us in a do or die situation here, I told myself that I would get myself my MCSE back in early 1997, I think our procrastinating is catching up with us (me included), and now we're hyperventilating at the thought of passing the core by the end of the year. Alright, this post seems to be just incoherent babbling by me, so I'll just cut it short now, but I think when it comes to certs you buy what you pay for, good thing most employers don't know that
