I set up a dual boot system with Win2K Server and Win 2003 Server. I use AOL Broadband to connect to the Internet. I have no problem with 2K. 2003 takes a nosedive into a BSOD when I attempt to install AOL Broadband. Does anyone know of any incompatibility here?

My friend had the Win 2003 Svr, but not dual boot. He don't have any problem.

I have a friend who has AOL boardband. I went over to her computer and tried to "surf" thinking it was "always on" like other boardband however to by dismay she told me you must sign on to AOL first. It's horrible.

Wasn't there an ad a few years back where a guy says "Friends don't let friends use AOL" and then he takes the mouse away?

I came up with a plan. AOL software is not compatible with Win 2003. My son will not part with his AOL software. I am going to buy a Linksys router. I will connect my son's computer to the AOL DSL modem via its USB connection. He will authenticate as usual. I will hook up my box running 2003 to the Linksys router, which will will hook up to the modem via its RJ45 connection.I will use PPPOE on the router to authenticate to AOL, and I will use IE or whatever browser to connect to the web. Unless I am overlooking something, It should work.

I had that same problem in 1994, but I got through it.

I tried aol 8.0 Plus. It worked. The CD that came with the aol network modem did not work with 2003. It had worked for 2000 Server. So 8.0 Plus is compatible. No need for the router.

You might've got lucky that one of those drivers happened to "mesh" with 2003.
