| Just noticed, I just need to get 218 to be MCSA as I have 70-088 and 70-081 either of which can be used as an elective instead of 'the beast' (216) hmmm food for thought.
have both 210 and 215 | |
|
| That's how I got my MCSA as well. I had passed the 70-088 during the NT track and decided to take the 70-218 after passing the 210 and 215 exams. At the time, I wasn't sure I was really that interested in getting the Windows 2000 MCSE, so I wanted to at least get the MCSA under my belt. | |

| and the 218 can be used as an elective for your mcse too. but you'll still have to get that 216 out of the way eventually | |

It is nicknamed "The Beast". It is arguably the most difficult exam an aspiring MCSE will take. You need to know a lot of stuff about a lot of things to pass this exam. Hands on is a must for this exam. (imho) I studied for 3 months prior to taking it and passed it. It was the only exam I have ever taken where I wasn't sure if I was going to pass it or not.
Of course all that studying for the 216 did have a side benefit, it made the 221 exam(the designing network infrastructure exam) which I took 3 weeks after the 216, a walk in the park for me.

| Correct, one more MCSA core exam and you'll get it. | |

Perhaps enforcer should join the 218 forum.
I think my learned colleague would find, if he frequented the said forum he purports to moderate, I already have been visiting the 218 forum. or is he inviting me to co-moderate it

| should a person do the 216 before 218 | |
| ruscorp 2003-05-31, 2:01 pm |
| ghaouf: I'd say do 50% do 216 first and the other 50% 218.

I did 218, but that's my bag baby! I'm more interested in administration instead of design.
| ghaouf 2003-05-31, 2:15 pm |
| well i eventualy have to take the 216 | |

Sure for MCSE. | |
| ghaouf 2003-05-31, 2:42 pm |
| so i should study the 218 with the 216 and then do the 218 and then study more for the 216 | |

218 is 210, 215, 216 and 217 rolled into one exam.
| ghaouf 2003-05-31, 3:07 pm |
| so i think i will do the 218 as an introductory for the other exams kind of like the net+ before CCNA | |

That would be rural North Dakota.
|
| Alright guys. I think that's enough for the off topic stuff. You've got the General forum to play around in.
Thanks. |
