| Hi Guys,
I got my MCSA in March 2002 and I am planning to take a few more exams to get my MCSE Win2k title as well.
FYI, I already passed 70-210, 70-215, 70-218 and use my COMPTIA A+ and Network+ for elctive for my MCSA requirements.
for my MCSA Win2k track and I also passed the followings NT4 exams for my NT4 track:
Exam 70-059: Internetworking with Microsoft TCP/IP on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
AND
Exam 70-087: Implementing and Supporting Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0
May I know can I use 70-059 and 70-087 and count towards my MCSE Windows 2000 Track ? If yes, how many more exams I have to take, in order to get my MCSE Win2k designation ?
Please kindly advise. | |

| visit the microsoft website and check their criteria for a MCSE.
I think you'll find Exam 70-059: Internetworking with Microsoft TCP/IP on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 will not help, not sure 'bout t'other though.

| I took a look at the list and it looks like your NT 4 electives are expired and don't count for credit towards MCSE 2K any more. You will have to pass 70-216, 70-217, one of the design exams (219, 220, 221, or 226), and one more elective exam to get your MCSE 2K. So you have 3, but you still need 4 more... Good luck! | |

| IIS 4 counts toward the MCSE 2000 track but I don't think TCP/IP does.
The best way to clear the confusion is to call Microsoft education. They have a list of the exams you have passed and requirements needed to update your certification.
Just make sure that their information is up to date and they will tell you what exams you need. Failing that e-mail mcp help and they will tell you it's just that MCP help takes a little longer to reply.

| I believe you need two design exams and one more elective before becoming MCSE. Correct me if I'm wrong. That old NT track stuff will not help you out. | |

| IIS 4 still counts under the current rules. This is confirmed by Microsoft as I passed IE4 and IIS4 for MCP+I so you are exempt.
You may need to check with Microsoft if you don't hold the MCP+I but as I have explained MCP+I are exempt.
Like everything else, it's best to check before going ahead.

| Thanks for all your help ! Got an email from Microsoft this morning and told me that all I need is to take 3 more exams. 70-216 and 70-217 and one more exam for the design core, I will go for 70-219.
That's my plan to wrap up for my MCSE win2k title. | |

| 219 is my next exam.
Check out the 219 forum as the link in one of the posts is useful for the design elements of the exam.
Glad we could help!
