I would like to know, if anyone here has done this or if anyone has an idea, how to build one. I know, Quantum makes them, but very expensive.
I would simply like to have a huge (120-200 gigs) Storage on my Network, with IP-Address, that does not have to be powered up all the Time, like a File Server.
It would only " wake up", if there is Traffic on the Network- or better, if there is Traffic for its Address.Hmmm...i was thinking, with an old Motherboard, NIC on it, WOL enabled, does not have to be very powerful.
But: how will it shut itself down?
OK, ladies and Gentlemen, who is first?
