Intimidated by design tests

| I've had no exposure yet to the design tests, but what I've heard makes them seem awfully difficult. Any advice on how to prep for a design test, and any comments on the difficulty level. | |

| Don't sweat it - they're not that bad. First have a scan of the scenario - don't worry about every detail - just get an overview. Then read the first question. Now you say to yourself "what are they looking for here?". Go back to the question and look for the relevant details. Write them down if it helps.
Remember they try to bog you down with blurb - "Joe Bloggs is the IT manager of Western Widgets Inc.... they have 879 NT workstations & 422 Win2K machines" - sort of thing. Most of it is irrelevant - who cares what the manager's name is? So get a handle on what they want to know and filter out what's important and what's not. | |
