| Hi,
First things things first. Check all the cable conections and cables. Next try pinging the address to see if your NIC is bad in the computer with the problems. If not that then maybe something wrong in the setup but it sounds like you know how to set it up. Can't help there because I use Novell 5.1 for home.
Luck to You | |

| I would make sure that I have my NIC installed correctly. Uninstall and reinstall. I would make sure that all the information in my Network Properties is correct. Make sure you have a Network Protocol in use. TCP/IP most likely. Good luck to you. | |

| Connectivity is there or you wouldn't be able to access the Web. This is simply a problem witht the browsing service. You can always gain access by using the UNC path. | |

What kind of cable router is this and what connections have you made to it and the other pc's?

| If you can surf, but cannot see the rest of the workgroup, you have connectivity (which means the hardware is ok), but either the browser or the TCP/IP configuration is screwed up.
First make sure the IP address and other settings are in line with the other PCs. If that looks ok, start troubleshooting. Begin by stopping and restarting the Windows browser service. If still no good, rebuild the network stack.
