It's official...I'm a moron!

| Today I walk into work and sit down at my desk. I logon to the network as usual and come across a strange message from a workstation that is NOT apart of our small LAN. View link below for picture.

Of course my first idea is to check the local event log, which I did and do find strange stuff. I have auditing for success/failed logon attempts to my workstation. Next I tried to ping the NetBIOS name of the machine to no avail.
I think this is just another example of what apathetic excuse for a system administrator I am (If you still want to call me that after this episode). I get strange messages and can't even trace the source. I don't even know where to start. I nearly pissed in my pants when I saw that message. The only potential security risk I have on my computer is pcAnywhere for remote controlling. I can't think of anything else.
What do you guys think since I am a total moron?

| Net sends are a fun way to play with your fellow system administrators A talented professional can mask the net send message to appear to come from "LOKI" when in fact it came from the programmer's machine named "jdoe". Do you have domain admin privileges on your network??? | |

| A security breach caused by your stupidity? Absolutely. Just kidding. Having that enabled will allow users to be able to do a lot more, and they can also use net use to connect to shares on your network. I was shown this from a friend, and I know first hand that it is very easy to do. Alot of websites that have tips and tricks like "Securing your network in 15 minutes" will have that issue listed. Unless you have applications that require NetBIOS over TCP/IP, do yourself a favor and DISABLE it. | |

Admin privileges, hahaha, I am the admin that is what is so sad here. I am the big cheese, the highest they go, etc. They don't call me a Microsoft Certified Moron for no reason, they call me it 'cause I earned the title! I am a moron!
P.S.: Thanks for your help guys.

| All you really have to worry about is your employer finding this site and discovering your identity.
Didnt you have an unidentified hack install a program on one of your production boxes?

Perhaps it's just a "grudge" you hold against me personally? Who will ever know for sure? Whenever I seek advise from the examnotes.net community I always get helpful, insightful input from experienced members. I'm sorry if I'm not a exactly very experienced and have confidence in myself, but hey that's what this site is here for.
Positive reinforcement. It just occurs to me whenever you personally reply to a problem I might have you always give me nothing but more negativity and sarcasm. Just my two cents, take no offense.
I personally retract my last "hole in the wall" comment. It was a bad day for me.

| TW2001 has done the same with me also. Time for him to find another BBS.
Dont hate, it leads to the dark side.
