Here are the ones I would recommend

1. Windows 2000 MCSE Study System Alan R. Carter

http://www.bookpool.com/.x/kck39mve...?qs=Alan+Carter

2. MCSE Training Kit : Microsoft Windows 2000 Core Requirements

http://www.bookpool.com/.x/kck39m90h1/sm/0735611300

I can't say enough good things about the Alan Carter book. It covers the four core topics very well. The Microsoft Press books can be purchased individually and are good because they follow the Microsoft Official Curriculum. So if you can't take the course these are good substitutes.

Aim High!

Take a look at books by Certification Insider Press (Exam Prep MCSE) They cover the subject in depth and point you well on your way to the different core exams for the MCSE, instead of trying to cram it all into one big book. Checkout http://www.omnibooks.com for some great deals on relevant study books.
Good luck with your exams!

You sure that was the right link. When I clicked on it I got a site with the following.

OMNIBOOKS,
DISTRIBUTORS & RETAILERS OF
BOOKS ON NUMEROLOGY, ASTROLOGY,
PALMISTRY, GEMS, TANTRA, YOGA,
AND OTHER KNOWLEDGE-OPULENT
BOOKS PUBLISHED IN INDIA.

Is this a new study method we don't know about?

Nothing like a little humor to get the day off right. (LOL)

I agree the Exam Prep/Exam Cram are also excellent books. I used them for all my NT 4.0 exams.

He he he :-)

I also find the majority of books from Microsfot Press contain a great useful wealth of information, but for newbies taking exams, it can sometimes be confusing to get to grips with the way things are explained. Another site to go is http://www.amazon.com to search for books, then compare prices to Omnibooks. Good Luck!

Even this Q is repeating and repeating itself, but the answer still the same.

Depend on your knowledge and personal preference, some people like the MS Press, Sybex, Osborne, All-in-one, Exam Cram, New Rider ,... etc

Find the one that fit your level, but recommend not to take the Sybex!

One of the books im using to prepare for 70-216. I have to say that this is very helpful in understanding all the networking aspects of windows 2000.

Downtime,

fantastic book, I read it at the beginning of the year and can definately recommend it!

Kasor,

I know people keep asking the same question but do you REALLY have to keep giving the same answer??? i.e. "Stay away from Sybex"...They worked for me (along with others)....'nuff said

Hi AndyC,

How are things doing over there on the other side of the pond?

Just thought that I would say hello. I just arrived home a while back from the Holiday weekend here. I was told that I could not bring any tech books to read or else I would be shot!

Anyway, I did manage to sneak Windows 2000 Magazine in my bag. There are a couple of really good articles in there on DHCP and Load balancing I believe.

Now that I am back, I am REALLY getting nervous about the 70-240 thing. I have ALOT to cover. Not getting the time I really need to study enough. I think I have to sit down and try to re-evaluate my schedule.

Anyway, take care for now. Please send some good vibrations in my direction.
