| Sure it's easy for them to afford all those MS servers, SQL, Site server, etc.
This is a very expensive setup. Site server along costs around $5,000. then how many SQL 2000 servers they using? How much does each of them cost? Then everything runs on top of MS Advanced servers.
I am sure the same volume of traffic could have been handled by Solaris/Oracle or even Linux/Oracle for a lot less money.
I just noticed that that page was last updated Sept. 21, 2000.
It's funny how they are raving about how their site is constantly updated almost on a daile basis, yet that vary page has not been updated in almost a year. |
