| ..Come December 31st of this year I know that if I don't upgrade my MCSE to Win 2k I will lose my MCSE status, however, what I want to know is will I still hold MCP status for NT4 Workstation, Server, Server in the Enterprise and TCP/IP????

| I believe that if you loose your MCSE status, you will lose your MCP status as well. | |

| You aught to be able to pass at least one of the W2K tests before then.
That way you'll be in the alphabet soup again with the status of W2K MCP. I'm swimming in the stuff. | |

| To be honest I started studying for the Win 2k track in January. So far I have been through the MS Press Cour four books, the Sybex Cour four books (twice), Windows 2000 Professional Resource Kit, the Osborne/Syngress Accelerated guide, the Sybex Network Infrastructure Design Guide and the Sybex Directory Service Design Study guide (as well as various MS White papers). For some reason, I STILL don't feel ready for the Accelerated exam :-/
To be honest, when Yeti failed the Accelerated exam my confidence was shattered, this guy has so much more experience and skill than I....what am I to do? I have sat on line tests and passed them with ease and I was due to sit the accelerated at the end of the month, now I am not so sure... | |

Why are you taking two design electives? Did one of your NT4 ones retire?
Glad to see you're thinking about the Designing a Network IS. That's the design exam I want to take as well. Could you provide any advice on which resources are good for this?
To be honest though, I'm not sure about the whole w2k thing. I have the accelerated MOC and the accelerated exam prep (14 pages of errata, yay!), and if that isn't enough...

| Why am I taking two design electives? My reasoning is that they will be around for as long as the Win 2k track will be unlike some exams which will retire as time moves on.
I am actually planning on taking the Security Design as well (along with Exchange 2000 and ISA).....sad or what?
As for materials for the Network Infrastructure??? I'll let you know once i've sat it!!! One thing is for sure though, I am going to purchase the MS Press kits for the design electives to go along with the Sybex ones (never trust one source and all that). |
