Has your MCSE (if you have one) helped you get a job (or even an interview?

Yes! Currently a Win2k Solutions Architect. Direct result of MCSE - but mainly through the knowledge gained from studying for MCSE. I did it the hard way!

Actually an MCP helped me land an entry level position.
The MCSE and CCNP "and alot of hard work" helped get me the promotion and raise.

My experience impressed my boss rather than the certs.

Don't missunderstand me there is no substitute for experience what we are saying is did the certification open doors and i will tell you that employers do look at the cert's but they will still test you so be ready to back up your documentation

HOW DO YOU GUYS FEEL ABOUT THIS MCSE CERTIFICATION

For those without much (or any) experience, the MCSE will have as much value as public restroom toilet paper (wait, even that has some use)!!

If you have a year or so experience in at least one sector in IT AND a cert here or there, then thats when the cert matters the most. The certification only tells a future employer that you have the ability to learn. and as far as i can tell, they know you dont have the ability to jump on a network and start troubleshooting or streamline it, that takes experience and no certification will ever take exp place. <of course, there are some exceptions out there, exceptional people only though>

HERE IT IS BOY'S HOT OF THE PRESS ABOUT CERT'S AND WHAT A EMPLOYER THINKS FOR THOSE THAT THINK A CERT HAS NO VALUE

EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST BUT ULTIMATELY THE CERT OPENS THE DOOR AS WELL IT SHOW YOU CAN BE TRAINED!!!!!!
