XP! Our future! Not Me!
|
|
|
| After reading many articles, semiar and meeting,... The determination of XP is " ? "
XP itself is a great OS, however it will be the end of MS Empire. I believed most users like the flexible and control on their OS and system. If everytime u need to upgrade or re-partition, then we need to either call or go online to obtain our reactivite code.
I think it is too troublesome. If by this tiem, any other vendor OS (like Linux) can provide better support, document, promotion and sale.
We might used Linux as our primary OS soon.

That's great. I think Linux still has a way to go before it's ready for the masses, but on servers it's already there. We're actually considering an XP rollout (most of the workstations are still running 98 or 98SE).

| Hey I went to the launch yesterday and was impressed with the operating system but the event itself was rather low key and they compared XP to Windows95? Everyone is thinking how does it compare to Windows 2000.It's not much of a step up but... I think it will sell and since they have effectively blocked copying the software they stand to make a killing. I may even buy stock... | |

Wrong...It was all over the net on various warez sites over 1 month ago.The gold code with product reg hacked.
They should be concerned with continued development of the AD rather than putting all resources into this and .Net..but alas thats never been thier aim.
At least the times are a changing....
