W2000 have a msconfig?
|
|
|
| Just a general question,
On a W98 box I can go to Start Run and type msconfig and see the Autoexec. Ini and Startup. Is there a similar feature on W2000?
Thanks. | |

| There is no such command as MSconfig on Win 2k. However, I have always gotten away with using third party software =)
Anyways, "Reg Cleaner / regcleaner" is an awesome program that will not only allow you to take over win 2k startup options, but it will also help you keep the registry clean. | |

| You can copy msconfig from 98 to Win2k if you are dual-booting are from a floppy, but you will not get config. autoexec, sys.ini win.ini or winstart.bat you will be limited to general and startup tabs | |

| That makes sense with the exception of win.ini those files do not exit in Win2K. Great tip ddogp on the copy of msconfig files from 98 I'll give it a try. | |

| Win XP has the Msconfig program back in it. And you can also use it with Win 2k. |
