I installed the Evaluation Version of W2k Advanced Server on a machine about 5 monthes ago so I know it is set to expire in 20 days. I was ready to put my old beta 3 version on instead but then I saw that along with my evaluation copy of Exchange 2000 is an evaluation of W2K Server (4 months).

What do you think is the machine going to say "no thanks, your time for evaluation is over go buy it" or will it let me install?

If you do a clean install it will install with no problems. You can do that every time it expires. Just reformat and re-install. I know a little tedious, but its a way to get around MicroShaft's evals.

You don't need to reformat your harddrive to reuse the software. If you are conversant with using the registry, you should be able to delete any trace of the operating system from there and reinstall as a fresh install. The system knows you have installed it before through the REGISTRY, so if its removed from there, it will never know you installed it b4. This way, you can also reuse trial softwares that expire after some time by wiping and reinstalling afresh.

Coldcase,

I have editted (or edited)the registry very often but how do you edit the registry for entries for itself. I mean, You are in Win 2000, can you get rid of every trace of Win 2K or can you be more specific?

Try reinstalling it, then if the system refuses to boot due to expired evaluation CD, try reinstalling again and change the name of the computer so the evaluation thinks its a new computer it's been installed into.
