Hi.
Does anyone here have experience with using VMWare to create a virtual Win2K network on one box? I am thinking about loading VMWARE on a Dell Inspiron (P3, 256 megs) with Server
and workstation running as virtual machines simultaneously. Can this be done? Does anyone have any pointers, etc?
Thanks

Hi Zontar

I use VMware extensively for testing scenarios at home and in the classroom.

THE BEST TOOL EVER (IMHO that is)

Have only had prob's with VMware beta3 and XP RC1 but that is another story

I would advise to get some more RAM before you go ahead, they are just about giving it away these days anyhow.

Current setup at home is 2 x win2k server both running VMware, one with win2k Pro the other with XP RC2, win2k Pro running win2k Pro on VMware, + some 9.x and win2k Pro boxes. VMware machines have full functionality on the network, including www access through ISA etc.

Good luck with your study

You might want to check out Virtual PC for Windows:

Excellent product! It's about $199.99 retail, but worth the money IMHO.
