| Okay...
Here goes...
I am A+ certified and I have made the choice now to go for my MCSE. The problem is that I don't know where to start!
What is the first test that most people go for and what are the typical study tools?
I have a small (10 various computers) network setup that I intend to use as my lab.
I'd like to be able to get this and a good grasp on the actual world knowledge without having to pay $5000 for a class....is that possible??!! I am also considering spending $1495 on a video program...has anyone found these to be helpful?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks very much in advance!

| I recommend that you begin with Network and operating system essentials (course 2151a) follow it up with implementing microsoft Windows 2000 professional and server(2152b). After you have read the books relating to those courses you should do exam 70-210. Most self paced study books will have all the relevent information, so shop around for the courseware and you should be able to pick it up for a good price. | |

| My advice is to definitly pursue the MCSE starting with either professional or server. These would probably be the easiest to start with from scratch. I would strongly recommend you have a lab with computers to configure. Just pay close attention to the WIN2K requirements when loading your OS.
I have done all of my studying using video and cdrom tuturials and this is defintily more attention grabing then reading books only. (Also a money saver compared to actual classes)
I have made most of my purchases from Keystone Learning Systems and believe their video's are great. My first CDROM tuturial was from VIAGRAFIX but i would not recommend them.

Good luck
