| Hi,
I just finished the Comptia exams and want to start on MSCE 2000 track.
I think the best place to start is to admit my ignorance and ask for advice.
Where does one start? Which exam? Which book? Anything else?

| Although it is soon retiring, a firm grasp of the concepts and principles of NT4.0 is a good start. Microsoft has a page that will help you decide (based on your own abilities) where you should start and which certification is best for you. I would recommend you start by Win2K Professional. The exam cram was a good book, but not enough to pass the test.
As always, put your paws on the OS and load it ASAP that way you will not be a paper cert. Try and study for Pro and Server at the same time as they are very similar.
I recommend the MOC for 2152. Incidently, I am teaching that class next week

By the way Freak didn't you just take a test on the 5th of Jan.? How did it go? I thought I saw you mention it but you are present on so many forums I don't even remember which.

Thanks for the question. yes I did pass the test. It was the 217, admin of Active Directory. Tough test, I am happy it is behind me!
