Author Which do u recommend MCSE NT4.0 or 2000 track

Hi there,
I decided to take MCSE but still confuse which track to start with ( NT 4.0 or 2000 ).

Also for those who passed exam 70-210, which book is the best to buy.

I appreciate your help

This is my personal advice which has been debatable in the past concerning this subject. A few may disagree, but I suggest that you pursue the 2000 track.

While many organizations will still use NT for a while, don't put the added pressure on yourself to complete the NT track before the Dec. 31, 2000 deadline. If you want to get a feel of NT, look at maybe taking the Workstation and/or Server exam before pursuing the 2000 track.

What people fail to realize is that even if you do pursue the 2000 track over the NT track, you will still have the basic concepts of the product. Yes 2000 is different that NT, but the basic tools are the same. It's all about knowing the concept of how a product works. You must understand how to relate the concepts and workings of both products.

A lot of people think that by pursuing the NT track and selling that to a recruiter, they will looked at as if they have been certified for a while, but you must realize that recruiters look closely at your work experience as well. You can be certified with NT, but if you have no experience, its not going to make that much difference.

My advice, brush up on NT Workstation and Server and then pursue the 2000 track.

Good Luck:-)
