Author win2000 tests

I've read an article in the July MCP mag insert that implies the new tests are so wordy (lots of text)that it will take the full amount of time just to read through the questions. The writer states that MOST questions ranged from several paragraphs to multiple pages in length. I don't think we'll be seeing any reliable dumps for a while, not unless we all quickly learn shorthand or develop photographic memories overnight.

Another good trick from MS to get some validity back to their cert.

I am taking my 70-217 cert next wednesday, the 5th. We have been told we are allotted 235 minutes for the exam, between 35-60 questions if that gives you any clue.

OK, we were lied to, the exam was 2+ hours, 45 questions, and it was a mother, 655 required to pass, got a 712, lots o stuff on DNS, security, RIS, and GPOs. Nothing like any of the practice questions out there, or even like in the Microsoft Official materials, so dont waste your money. They say you have to have hands on experience, whcih I have over 6 months, but it didnt really help, the questions are very confuising and worded vaguely, so its almost a guessing game. One thing is for sure, the paper MCSEs are a thing of the past.

Thought you might like to hear of a trick from an instructor of mine who has passed so many tests there is no room to write all the certifications on his business card...

What he does is skip down to the "Requirements" and the "Optionals" and then read the "Proposed Solution." If there is no way the solution would provide the requirements or optionals, immediately choose "does not meet requirements" and go on to next question.

If the solution closely meets the requirements and options, scan the question for key words and skip over the rest which is usually just window dressing to add confusion.

If you still have time at the end, review the questions you answered quickly (as suggested above) and read over the question to see if it would change your answer at all.

He said he has passed all tests in a minimum time and with very high scores. (He is a web master and instructor.)

Just a suggestion... I think it deserves a good try at least.

That's exactly what I've done in the past on exams. It does help alot with the time factor.
