Author Certification givin to previous MCSE

I don't know if this is true and I am looking for some concrete proof an associate of mine said that previous MCSE's will get one core certification without writing an exam. I checked all the sites and could find nothing on this.

I seriously doubt that there is any validity in this, with all the controversy about the "Paper MCSE's" and newly certified MCSE's not knowing anything about IT once they attain their certification. Microsoft is certainly not going to give anything away, everything involved with the 2000 track will be earned as it should be. My two cents worth.........

Your "friend" is full of it! However, Electives that are not retired will transfer over. For instance one of my electives was Proxy 2.0, which applys to the Win2000 track as an elective. So I've got 70-240 and only 2 electives to take.
