I am just starting to learn about Windows 2000.

I have a question. If I have 2 Windows 2000 servers and NT4.0 workstations as clients, is this a native mode or a mixed mode?

If I have one Windows 2000 server and Windows 98 as workstations, is that a native or a mixed mode?

Native mode and mixed mode has to do with domain controllers, not down level clients. In native mode you have only W2K domain controllers, while mixed mode can have both W2K and NT. In both you can have Win9x workstations use the W2K domain controllers for authentication, file sharing, etc.
