| Which is better....the Microsoft books for Windows 2000 or the Sybex books?
The core requirement set for Microsoft cost $199.99, but comes with a 120-trial of Windows 2000 server. The Sybex set cost $149.99. | |

| Hey Bobby Digital,
I can't say anything about the Sybex books, I have never used them. I have used the Microsoft Press MCSE Training Kit books for Windows 2000. I highly recommend the 210 and 215 books. The 216 is a waste of money. The 217 book might be pretty good. I used the W2K Resource Kit for 216 and 217. The MS Press book for 216 disgusted me so much I switched to the Resource Kit and didn't really look at the 217 book. I have the ExamPrep for 219 and it seems pretty good so far.

I asked this Q before and most people recommend Sybex. MS Press 'NOWAY'
Bundle set is cheap, but not all book is good for one publisher.

| Bobby, I've purchased both and from what I've seen the Sybex books are higher quality. I always use 2 books to study for an exam though so I'll go through both sets. After going through some CCIE level books this MCSE stuff is pretty boring to go through though, having trouble studying it.
