THE best books/ practice tests for Win2K exams?
|
|
|
| I just got back from the bookstore and I STILL cannot decide which book or books would be best for preparing for the Windows 2000 Core Requirements exams. I think I have decided just to take each of the four exams one at a time instead of the 70-240 Accelerated Exam. I heard the 70-240 was quite a monster of an exam indeed.
Has anyone used the Alan Carter "Win2K MCSE Study System" (ISBN 0764547011) book in order to get through each of the 4 Win2K Core Requirements exams?
The Carter book looks like a comprehensive, yet user-friendly kind of book, but is it really THE best study guide/primary resource that will give me a really good chance of getting high scores on each of the 4 Win2K Core Requirements exams on the first try? That is my big concern.
On the other hand, the Sybex Study Guides for each of the Core exams look pretty good ... as well as the Coriolis Exam Cram books for the Core exams. How about the MCSE Training Kit Windows 2000 books? Would buying each one of those be better? Are the Windows 2000 Resource Kit materials absolutely necessary?
Has 2000Tutor.com come up with their official "Recommended Books" for each of the Windows 2000 MCSE exams? I personally used the NT Carter book for my NT Core Requirements and the Sybex books for TCP/IP and IIS. That turned out to work pretty well.
Is the same path through the Windows 2000 MCSE maze going to be similar? Should I go with the Win2K Carter book and use the Sybex books for the Designing exam and Win2K electives or what? If there is one thing I hate about all these certification tests it is figuring out what THE best books, CDs, and practice test software is.
Any help from anyone about these buying decisions would be appreciated. I suspect it will help everyone.
