Author Q about MCSE 2000?

2000-09-16, 12:36 am

To anyone,

Friend of mine is planning to take a course toward MCSE 2000 and willing to pay $12,000.
Oah..... No.

I kept tell me no to do it, but he don't give a shi# about it. He don't have any I.T experience. I told me to come here and see what other pro think about the MCSE.

Have anyone take the exam? Can anyone find the different between the new and old MCSE exam? 1 to 10, how is the difficultly?

Thanks

Thanks

You need some IT experience before you go for an MCSE. Sure, you can take classes and memorize all the answers to the exams but as soon as you get a job in IT it will be obvious that you don't really know what you're doing.

Things in MCSE2000 is getting difficult. I will rate the NT4 MCSE 1 & the MCSE2000 10. Now they try to control the number of MCSE and make the exam. more difficult. For those without experience, MCSE used to be a ticket to a beginner job. But MCSE2000 are target for enterprise architecture. It is a enterprise networking system, not a departmental NOS.

Instead of spending big sum of money in MCSE, why not spend the money in a computer science degree.

I am MCSE2000 now, all I spending is only about 3K. 1K for a 15-day instructor led course, 1K for a additional PC to install the server, 1K for MSPress training manual, resources kit and the exam. fee. The instructor led course doesn't teach you much, most of the thing I learn from self study.

Just my opinion, hope this help.
